Why BRICK supports Dr. John Crawford

Dr. Crawford came to San Diego a few years ago and we, the Fountain family, have noticed a difference in how brain tumor patients are treated.  Before Dr. Crawford came, we were treated wonderfully and couldn't complain about anything.   I really noticed a difference though, when Dr. Crawford came to the hospital and brain tumor patients now had a doctor all their own.  What a difference a subspecialty program dedicated  to the care of children with brain tumors can make.   And that's coming from an "off-treatment" family who only goes to the Cancer Care Center once a year for follow-up clinic visits.  I can only imagine what the current "on-treatment" patients get to experience.

Dr. Crawford has a vision for research and revolutionary treatment protocols for brain tumor patients.  The video below shares a brief summary of that vision.  By giving to BRICK, you are contributing toward this vision.
Dr. John Crawford, Director of Neuro-Oncology at Rady Children's Hospital-San Diego, discusses the exciting advances in neuro-oncology research and what makes the neuro-oncology program at Rady Children's special.

Friday 4/25/03 - Bubbles
This was to be a "Getaway Weekend" for Jason and Cecillia while Les was scheduled to stay with Gammie and Papa Barry.

Cillia called from Gammie’s house in Wildomar to Paramedic Todd at Murrieta Station 2 and discussed whether or not to call 911. Todd felt that it was worthy of a 911 response.

Cillia called Jason who had just arrived home to say that she was going to bring Les home to Murrieta and then call 911, hoping that the Fire Department could push Les to the front of the line at a hospital emergency room. (Note: Les's Papa Barry also works on the Murrieta Fire Department) As Jason and Cillia talked, Jason stood in the garage. Just as Jason was going to tell Cillia to wait to call 911, the Murrieta Fire District Engine 631 (station 1) pulled to a stop in front of our house. Two firemen and a Paramedic jumped from the vehicle and approached Jason. Forrest, the Engineer, said to Jason, “You don’t look so hurt.”
